Newsflash: Ni är dödsdömda i vilket fall som helst

- Jag hoppas att dom sätter stopp för det här för nedladdningen har inneburit rena katastrofen för oss. Om ingen betalar för film hur ska vi då överleva?
Eftersom jag gillar Videoteket i Sundsvall (fast det heter väl Hemmakväll numera? Bakläxa, Mittnytt!) så tänker jag försöka svara på frågan så pedagogiskt det bara någonsin går:
Det ska ni inte. Inte som filmuthyrare åtminstone.
Jag lider med er, men faktum är att det är mer eller mindre irrelevant för er hur det går i den här rättegången. Om så all fildelning skulle upphöra imorgon så är er affärsmodell ändå förlegad. Ingen människa vid sina sinnens fulla bruk föredrar att göra sig besväret att ta sig ut i regn och rusk en fredag kväll och ta bussen/bilen/cykeln hela vägen till er bara för att tvingas trängas och köa för att få tag på en film, när det är så enkelt att ladda ner en film direkt till datorn.
För ni tror väl inte på allvar att fildelningen är det enda sättet att få film på Internet? Redan idag finns det fullständigt lagliga filmtjänster, och de lär inte bli färre. Tvärtom. Internet är ett överlägset sätt att transportera information, och de plastskivor ni använder er av är totalt meningslösa i uthyrningssammanhang. (Annat är det vid försäljning, där vill jag påstå att plastskivan inte är helt ointressant, men det är ett ämne för en annan text.)
Även om folk betalar för film så kommer er affärsmodell att gå under. Den är ungefär lika intressant att bevara som de där företagen som körde ut is innan det fanns elektriska kylskåp. Inom några år kommer ingen ha någon användning för er längre.
Inte som filmuthyrare.
Min rekommendation till er är att fortsätta på den inslagna banan. Fortsätt satsa mer på kringförsäljningen: godis, filmaffischer, t-shirts, specialutgåvor för samlare… “Endast fantasin sätter gränserna” som det brukar heta.
Med eller utan fildelning så är det er enda chans. Fysisk uthyrning av film är ett döende koncept och det kommer ingen rättegång i världen att kunna ändra på.

There is an ending. Just remember that I meant for this to be an art game. I do feel like I spent an inordinate amount of time on the more traditional gameplay elements, which may make the meaning of the game a bit unclear. If you mess around with it though, you’ll find it.
