Gå-med-i-Piratpartiet-dagen blev lyckad

Den 8 December utsågs till den officiella “Gå-med-i-Piratpartiet-dagen”, i ett försök att visa de etablerade partierna att frågorna om integritet, rättssäkerhet och demokrati i den moderna världen är viktiga på riktigt.

600 nya medlemmar blev det. Inte så pjåkigt. SvD blev tydligen den första traditionella gammeldagsa (jo, jag tycker att det är ett riktigt ord) tidningen att trycka orden “Piratpartiet är en klassisk medborgarrättsrörelse“. Även om det var Henrik Oscarsson, statsvetare och valforskare vid Göteborgs Universitet, som citerades.

Rick Falkvinge säger välkommen till alla nykomlingar, och levererar några citat från andra bloggar, vilka jag helt fräckt tänker sno rakt av.

Men den här gången tänker jag inte komma med mina egna formuleringar. I stället var det tre bloggare som skrev saker som berörde mig ända ner i märgen, och som kommer med bättre argument än vad jag kan göra — argument som är så bra, så berörande, att det är fel att inte föra dem vidare.

Drottningsylt formulerar sig så här:

Om jag ska vara rädd jämt för vilka sidor jag surfar in på, vad jag skriver i mail och säger i telefon så spelar det ingen som helst roll om vi har världens bästa vård, om vi har guld på gatorna och middagsbord som svämmar över.

Därför räknas jag från och med idag som pirat. För att jag måste.

Josh skriver att man behöver göra något idag – för imorgon kan det vara förbjudet. En lång, men läsvärd postning.

Som reaktion på det skrev mcsarcne så här, något av det mest gripande jag läst hittills i sammanhanget:

Jag läser hos Josh och tänker: “Ja, kanske borde man…?”
Jag klickar på länken, men tvekar till. Vem får veta det här, kan det här skada mig…?

Så långt hinner tanken.
Sen hör jag mig själv.

Jösses.

Har jag blivit så begränsad i tanken att jag tvekar så är det HÖG TID att gå med i just piratpartiet. Just för att tanken behöver få vara fri.

…och det har väldigt lite med fildelning att göra.

Det gläder mig väldigt att folk fortfarande kan se och upptäcka att man tänker “hur kan det här drabba mig?”. För precis så är det. I Tyskland, där datalagringsdirektivet införts och allas telefonsamtal därför kommer att registreras, så svarar 52% att de då inte kommer att ringa hjälplinjer som kan registrera dem som svagare (akut psykolog, beroendehjälplinjer, etc). Över hälften! Över hälften… som slutar prata.

Det är det vi inte får göra. Vi får inte sluta prata.

Gå med du också. Imorgon är det kanske försent.
