Jag ligger efter i mitt bloggläsande ända sedan jag åkte och demonstrerade i Stockholm. Jag har plöjt igenom jag-vet-inte-hur-många-hundra inlägg sedan jag kom hem, och det dyker ju så klart upp nya hela tiden. Men nu när jag åtminstone börjar närma mig att vara ikapp, så tänkte jag ta tillfället i akt och berätta för mina läsare om några av de saker jag tycker är intressanta.

När jag började skriva detta inlägg trodde jag att slutklämmen skulle bli lite tacksamt prickskjutande mot metoder som samkörning av register, fulenkäter till icke ont anande 12-åringar och misslyckade slentrianutlåtanden om livsplaner från Värnpliktsverket. Ikväll sitter jag här och känner att detta är överflödigt och nästan lite oviktigt.

Vad jag upplever som långt mycket mer störande är kylan som uppgifterna framträder i.

Inlägget hittade jag genom Opassande, Johanna Sjödin och Enligt Min Humla. Och säkert några fler som jag inte hunnit plöja igenom ännu.

Brokep pekar på ännu ett inkompetenstecken hos gammelmedia. Det börjar bli tröttsamt att påpeka enkla fakta, men vi måste tydligen fortsätta med det ett tag till. Copyriot kommenterar också.

JörgenL har läst en intervju med Ingvar Åkesson, publicerad i Sydsvanskan, och försöker bemöta den. Även här börjar man bli trött på att behöva påpeka samma argument om och om igen, men tills de börjar lysna och förstå…

Torrentfreak skriver om en ny apparat som ska hjälpa TV-bolagen att streama TV-program med hjälp av Bittorrentprotokollet. Det skulle innebära mycket lägre kostnader jämfört med icke-P2P-baserade lösningar, och det skulle vara ett steg framåt för hela informationssamhället om fler stora aktörer började inse de praktiska fördelarna med distributionsmodeller baserade på P2P-teknologi.

Ett mycket värre alternativ vore om upphovsrättslobbyn fortsätter driva internetleverantörer (och andra leverantörer av infrastruktur) till att sänka hastigheten för Bittorrentöverföringar, och kanske till och med till att blockera protokollet helt. Det vore fruktansvärt ineffektivt och skulle i förlängningen ligga hela samhället till last om vi inte kunde utnyttja teknologiska framsteg bara för att vissa betonghäckar vägrar anpassa sina affärsmodeller till moderna tider.

RIAA: Lobbyists or Law Enforcers?

Torrentfreak frågar sig om upphovsrättslobbyn verkligen ska vara både offer och åklagare. Det finns ju väldigt goda skäl till att det inte är så det brukar fungera i civiliserade samhällen, ändå verkar just upphovsrättsfrågorna vara ett undantag från den regeln. Det är riktigt dåligt – inte bara för fildelare utan för hela idén om rättssäkerhet – om det tillåts fortsätta på det viset.

Antipiratbyrån, för att ta ett välkänt svenskt exempel, får gärna lobba bäst de vill. Men för att utreda brott har vi en polismyndighet. För att väcka åtal har vi åklagare. Och för att avgöra skuld har vi domstolar. Skillnaden mellan rättsväsendet och upphovsrättslobbyn är att rättsväsendet är opartiskt (får man hoppas).

Vi skulle aldrig tillåta IOGT-NTO att utreda fall av misstänkt spritsmuggling, eller hur?
