SVT Debatt försöker sig på ett patetiskt spel för gallerierna

Nu ber programmet om ursäkt – med en kort text som redan efter den mest rudimentära analys inte kan kallas för annat än falsk, ytlig, innehållslös, bortförklarande, ynklig och patetisk. Tillåt mig förklara.
Så här ser ursäkten ut:
Debatt ber Pirate Bay om ursäkt
Gårdagens Debatt om hur obduktionsbilderna på de mördade barnen Max och Saga sprids på nätet blev både känslomässig och informativ. Men tyvärr hände det som inte får hända. En inbjuden debattör kände sig förd bakom ljuset.
Pirate Bays pressansvarige Peter Sunde hade inför programmet klart uttryckt att han inte ville debattera med barnens pappa Nicklas Jangestig, vilket vi tog hänsyn till när vi planerade programmet. Trots det blev det fel när programmet väl skulle sändas. Så här gick det till.
Vi fick kontakt med Jangestig, som befann sig utomlands, på torsdag eftermiddag och beslutade att han på telefon skulle få berätta om sin reaktion. Därefter skulle den principiella frågan om etik på nätet debatteras i studion. Detta fick Sunde information om. I den debatten skulle Jangestig inte delta, möjligen få kommentera efteråt.
Under direktsändningen brast redaktionen i kommunikation och lyckades inte separera telefonintervjun med Jangestig från debatten om nätetik.
Det beklagar vi och ber om ursäkt för.
Offentlighetsprincipen och etiken på nätet är en viktig samhällsfråga som varken Pirate Bay eller andra aktörer på nätet kan väja för. Den debatten måste föras och då måste samtliga berörda få komma till tals.

Några saker tycker jag är av extra vikt att notera när man försöker studera språket lite närmare:
1. “En inbjuden debattör kände sig förd bakom ljuset”
Man tar inte på sig något ansvar. Peter Sunde blev inte förd bakom ljuset, han bara upplevde det så. Ingen på SVT Debatt har gjort något fel.
2. “Pirate Bays pressansvarige Peter Sunde hade inför programmet klart uttryckt att han inte ville debattera med barnens pappa Nicklas Jangestig”
Genom att strunta i att ange Peter Sundes anledning utmålar man honom som en okänslig person som inte vill ta ansvar – eftersom det är default-tolkningen i ögonen på folk som fått all sin information från pinsamma kolumner i skvallerpressen.
3. “Under direktsändningen brast redaktionen i kommunikation och lyckades inte separera telefonintervjun med Jangestig från debatten om nätetik.”
Det här ter sig som ren lögn. Mest för att om det skulle vara sant så tyder det på gravt bristande kompetens hos programledningen, vilket man ju inte gärna vill tro när det handlar om en av de mest inflytelserika samhällspåverkarna i svensk media.
4. “Det beklagar vi och ber om ursäkt för.”
En mycket kort och uttryckslös ursäkt som verkligen skriker “härtill är vi nödd och tvungna”. Man får inte på något sätt intrycket av att de menar det, särskilt inte när man sätter de åtta små orden i relation till resten av textens pinsamma bortförklaringar och illa dolda personangrepp.
5. “Offentlighetsprincipen och etiken på nätet är en viktig samhällsfråga som varken Pirate Bay eller andra aktörer på nätet kan väja för.”
Här påstår man, utan att ens försöka dölja det, att The Pirate Bay försöker “väja för samhällsfrågan” om offentlighetsprincipen och etiken på nätet. Vilket ju är ren, skär och förbannad lögn – det är uppenbart för alla som bemödat sig att läsa på det allra minsta i frågan.
Även de som undertecknar den så kallade “ursäkten” torde inse detta, då Peter Sundes uttalade anledning till att inte vilja möta pappan i TV var just att det skulle bli omöjligt att föra en rationell debatt om etiken på nätet i ett sådant sammanhang.
6. “Den debatten måste föras och då måste samtliga berörda få komma till tals.”
Här tar programledningen i praktiken tillbaka den fåniga lilla ursäkt de försökte sig på några rader ovanför, och skriker högt mellan raderna: “Vi ångrar ingenting, fattar ni det?!”
Summering:
SVT Debatt har sänkt sig till tabloidnivå. Det är riktigt pinsamt att se. De ansvariga borde skämmas – mycket och länge – och föredragsvis söka sig till nya karriärer. Gärna hos parkförvaltningen, eller någon annanstans där man inte sysslar så mycket med att påverka människors tankar och åsikter.
Vad frågan egentligen borde handlat om, redan från första början, är ju vad känsligt material gör i ett offentligt dokument. The Pirate Bay är infrastruktur, ett slags sökmotor. De har inte publicerat någonting mer än vad Google gör. Ingen ber Google radera stötande bilder från sin databas, precis som ingen ber Posten om att börja ta etiskt ansvar för vad deras användare skickar i brev och paket. Helt enkelt för att det vore skitkorkat att göra det. (Ett påstående som jag gärna utvecklar vidare någon gång när det hinns med…)

Bra uppspaltat. Jag irriterade mig också på den där s.k. ursäkten.
Speciellt falskt tycker jag att “lyckades inte separera” låter. Programledaren kopplade ju medvetet ihop dem. Det är som om en tjuv skulle be om ursäkt och säga att “jag lyckades inte undgå att stjäla saken”.

Bimbo Boy: själv tycker jag visserligen att det finns en poäng med Public Service. Det är viktigt för samhällsdebatten – och därmed för oss alla, även de som inte tittar på SVT – att det finns tv-kanaler som inte är beroende av annonspengar för att producera journalistiska program. Vad händer när annonsörerna börjar ställa ultimatum för att fortsätta betala? “Om ni visar den här dokumentären om … så slutar vi köpa annonsplats av er” till exempel. Då är vi illa ute.
Dessutom tycker jag att det finns en poäng i att ha tv-kanaler som kan producera och köpa in nöjesprogram som har en smalare målgrupp än vad som görs i de kommersiella kanalerna. Ett berikat kulturliv är något som alla tjänar på i längden, om än ofta indirekt.
Däremot är det märkligt att i dagens samhälle ha en särskild TV-avgift. Lägg det på skattsedeln istället, så skulle vi slippa en sjuk mängd byråkrati.
