Som alltid när Joss är inblandad i saker så tänjs det ganska rejält på genregränserna. Att vända på könsstereotyperna i Buffy eller skildra vilda västern-äventyr i rymdmiljö räcker inte. Här har han gett sig in på att göra ett 40-minuters superhjälteepos i musikalform – specifikt för att visas på Internet. Gratis dessutom.
Det är ju nästan så man blir kär.

För den som gillar serien (det är alltså tre akter om cirka 13 minuter vardera) så finns den tydligen att köpa på Itunes, själv väntar jag tills DVD:n kommer ut. Den ska enligt uppgift ha ett kommentatorspår med kommentarer i sångform…
Uppdatering: Filmen fungerar för närvarande inte att se för folk utan nordamerikanskt IP-nummer. Jag vet att filmskaparna hade samma problem med den här hostingtjänsten från början, men att det av någon anledning löste sig rätt snabbt. Vet inte hur det kommer bli den här gången, men tills vidare så låter jag det ligga kvar på sidan och hoppas på det bästa…
Uppdatering 2: Eftersom de officiella kanalerna inte fungerar som de borde så kan det vara värt att påpeka att det hela naturligtvis finns tillängligt via The Pirate Bay – för den som pysslar med sådan därna fildelning alltså…

Jag är en riktig sucker för musikaler, måste jag erkänna. Dr Horrible är väl å ena sidan inte på långa vägar så bra som Buffy, men det är å andra sidan inte så lätt att hinna med all den karaktärsutvecklingen och genomtänkta storys på 42 minuter som det är i en serie på sju säsonger.
Sett till förutsättningarna – formatet och det faktum att det mesta som behövdes för inspelningen, inklusive skådisar, har lånats ihop eller betalats med vad som i hollywood får anses vara nästan inga pengar alls – så är det riktigt, riktigt bra tycker jag.

Electronic cigarettes are absolutely brilliant. I am now smoking about FIVE ordinary cigarettes (roll-ups) a day, whereas before I smoked about 25-30 a day. I certainly feel a whole lot better, and feel that a lot of the tar and rubbish in my lungs is now coming out (not very pleasant, but it’s a small price to pay). The electronic cigarettes are superb; they give a good nicotine “hit” – just wish they would create a bit more “smoke” to almost mimic the exact tobacco smoking habit.
